Week #70

Summer is finally here and it was 95 degrees a few days back. It is in the 60's today, which I enjoy.

How are all of you? My inbox is getting thinner by the week. You all have time, just put in the effort.

Anyway, life is good.

We went to Jelgava (again) this week and will go 2 more times this transfer... That is a lot of trips out of the area. Not to mention the 8 other exchanges we have to do. CRAZY we will spend little time in out own area. Oh well.

We did service in Jelgava and helped an 80 year old member in her garden. She is bats crazy and so cute. I will attach picture.

Also, your homework this week is to read Alma 30-34. Very good chapters.

Alma 34: 9-10:

For it is expedient that an atonement should be made; for according to the great plan of the Eternal God there must be an atonement made, or else all mankind must unavoidably perish; yea, all are hardened; yea, all are fallen and are lost, and must perish except it be through the atonement which it is expedient should be made.
10 For it is expedient that there should be a great and last sacrifice; yea, not a sacrifice of man, neither of beast, neither of any manner of fowl; for it shall not be a human sacrifice; but it must be an infinite and eternal sacrifice.
Thanks to Jesus, that eternal sacrifice has been made. Now, what are you willing to sacrifice to obtain eternal life? We cannot expect to have the Atonement work in our lives if we have not felt any of the pain or sorrow that he felt. Sometimes, we need to feel a little down in order to get back up. Sometimes, we need to give something of ourselves to feel of the love he wants us to feel.
Don't let Trump blow up the world! HAHAHAHAHA BYE

Week #69

The computers dont work and wont let me send to everyone. Sorry.
This week was good. Jelgava is pretty.
I knocked into my first EVER lesson this week in Jelgava. It was a 19 year old kid who let us in after I complemented his tattoo. LOL. It was a good lesson and there will be another. His name was E.
Anyway, the rest of the week was normal. Interviews with President, finding, meeting with members, translating for primary... All is good.
Love you all.

Week #68

Hi friends, family, Mr. and Mrs. Blake Sykes, and any other being who will read this.
Congratulations on the wedding, Blake. I hope you have a good life and that you will still have time to make creepy little films with the boys.
Well, here we are. Another one of these emails that I do not want to write and you wont find time to read.
The area is good. I will be in Jelgava this week with the new missionary. It will be fun.
K is good. We are meeting today.
Recently I have really enjoyed the book of Matthew. The Gospels are so nice because we here the Gospel of Jesus Christ as he said it. So many good stories.
I have been very tired all week. So has Elder Andersen. I guess we are working too hard.

Well, I love you all.

Week #67

How is everyone doing?

Good, I'm glad you are all well.

I am fine. I am staying in my first (and apparently only) area for the 11th transfer or in other words, 15th month. I like it fine. I am still with Elder Andersen and my other trainee, Elder Demille, will be training in Jelgava, which will be fun.

Still Zone Leader, which basically means I travel to Liepaja and Jelgava once a transfer and go to Missionary Leadership Council. Nothing too difficult. Being a District Leader would be harder. Elder Andersen is still the District Leader in Riga.

Saw these two cool Mormon Messages and I will attach links. Importance of Fast Offerings and how we gotta feel the Gospel and then dance (or act) to the beat. WOO HOO THE GOSPEL IS TRUE!

Love you all.

Week #66

I am out of time, folks, so this will be SHORT.

We have cool new Italian investigator.

Gordon Hayward is dead to me.

2 Nephi 31 was my favorite chapter of the week.

Transfers are next week. Will I stay in my first area 1 more transfer? WHO KNOWS.

I love you all.

I have no pictures. I am a failure. I will repent and be better next week.

Week #65

Sound of silence- Simon and Garfunkel

'Hello darkness, my old friend. I've come to talk with you again. Because a vision softly creeping, left it's seeds while I was sleeping. And the vision, that was planted in my brain, still remains, within the sound, of silence.''

While contacting a few days ago, we met a man named Martiņš  who was interested. I called him so he would have our number and the all time greatest song, Sound of Silence, was his ringtone. This is the strongest testimony builder of my mission. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is TRUE!

President P is a great man, funny too! He speaks good English and loved KFC!

Investigators are well. So am I. The weather is a bi-polar mess and Global Warming is a myth.

Kr is still going strong. Giving him the time he needs and he is loving the Gospel and seeing the blessings.

En is also doing well. Meeting with him this week.

I love the Book of Mormon. Revelation comes left and right when we read. Mosiah 5:8, for example:

7 And now, because of the covenant which ye have made ye shall be called the children of Christ, his sons, and his daughters; for behold, this day he hath spiritually begotten you; for ye say that your hearts are changed through faith on his name; therefore, ye are born of him and have become his sons and his daughters.

8 And under this head ye are made free, and there is no other head whereby ye can be made free. There is no other name given whereby salvation cometh; therefore, I would that ye should take upon you the name of Christ, all you that have entered into the covenant with God that ye should be obedient unto the end of your lives.

We are the children of Christ, and through our obedience we are made free. When we are baptized and make covenants we give up nothing, but instead are given the privilege to follow Him.
Anyway, I love those verses. When we do as He has commanded, we are free. Think about the meaning of that word, free. It has so much meaning when thought of in Gospel terms. Please read this whole chapter. It is wonderful.

Well, I don't have much more time and am going to play Tennis on Clay in 2 hours so I need to prepare for that. Love you all.

Week #64

Born in the USA- Bruce Springsteen

God Bless America.

New President is cool, He is Ukarainian and has 2 kids. Short. Gave one of the sisters a fist bump.

I don't have time to write.

We had a great time today celebrating the 4th (on the third). We had Shashliki (Shish kebab) and chips. We sang the National Anthem.

I love America.

Also, go on and read some of the stuff the Apostles said to the new Mission Presidents. They are the lords servents.

The building was dedicated this week. Very cool. I am lucky to be in my same area for so long. I got to see the open house and dedication. Blessings.

Week #63

Two songs come to my head today:

1) Sunday Bloody Sunday- U2
2) Allergies- Paul Simon

The first because we had the Police called on us last night and got thrown out of an Apartment building. One of the highlights of my mission thus far.

The second because my ALLERGIES ARE KILLING ME. I sneeze 20+ times a day. I cannot wait for winter.

The one and only President Harding leaves on Friday and President P will arrive the same day. He is straight 100% Russian-Ukrainian, which will be interesting.

Our first Zone Conference with the new President will also be a celebration of the 241st Anniversary of the Greatest Governmental Establishment in the History of the World, The United States of America. The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. Along with the Russian District Zone Leaders (True Patriots of the Red, White and Blue), we have decided the opening Hymn will be ''America the Beautiful'' and we will close with ''The National Anthem''. We will be eating KFC, watermelon, grape cool-aid and apple pie. George Washington will smile down on us with his Ivory smile.

God Bless the U.S.A. (Dievs Svēti A.S.V)

I am good.

Investigators are also good. We got a new one just yesterday whose last name means stink bug in Russian, so yeah... We are happy.

Sadly, I forgot to take pictures all week. (Mother- I apologize and will send double next week)

Have you all read Jacob 4 yet?

Also, the Church came out with a new Missionary Database that allows you to see your Missionary Ancestors who served early in the church. Pretty cool.

There is the link. TEE HEE.

Great job!

Week #62

I am now the only person in the Baltic States who knows about Steve Brule. (Welcome Home Parker)

I have been a SICK LITTLE BOY all week but no rest for me tee HEE because I am a MISSIONARY. For your Health!

I lack the presence of Parker in the Baltics. He was a good missionary and a better boy. For your Health!

Things are well. Elder Andersen is still cute and small and speaks Latvian now so that is NICE. We are the power couple of Rīga (He has been in Rīgā for 10 months and I for almost 13) and we will RULE WITH IRON FISTS AND MORMONA GRĀMATAS. For your Health!

Investigators are well. For their Health!

Get ready for next weeks email. It will be jammin. I am kinda bored with routines and we will be slammin them to the PAVEMENT. For my Health!

Love you all.

Also watch that video.

Week #61

I very recently started to write some poetry in my down time. I just write and don't think too much. I also now understand how truly disturbed I am. It is all very depressing. Elder Birch hates it.

Speaking of Elder Birch, we are no longer companions. He is going just across the river and I am staying (for my 10th transfer) in my 1st area. Yeah, that is crazy. President Harding, who leaves this transfer, has and will never transfer me.

However, I am excited because I am Re-Training ELDER ANDERSEN. He is coming home after 8 months. He is like a college dropout who moves back with his parents (except he is actually of great missionary) and will live of off his Fathers success. I am happy.

Kr our investigator is doing great and will be Baptized sometime in July.

Things are looking good here.

I will miss Zone Leader Elder Matthew Parker Seegmiller, he is a great guy. We had fun talking to a guy on a bench last week reading a funny book (ask Parker the name, I wont say over email) and enjoyed a long MLC. I have truly been blessed to serve in the same mission as him.

Love you all.

Week #60

Cats in the Craddle and the Silver Spoon, Little Boy Blue and the Man on the Moon, when you coming home Dad? I don't know when, but we will get together then Child, you know we will have a good time then.

An was baptized on Saturday. She showed up an hour early and was very anxious. It was a good Baptism all around. Funny jokes, the Spirit, a GREAT missionary musical number.
We will have Zone Conference and MLC (with Leadership Training) which means that me and Elder Matthew Parker Seemiller will see each other one last time before he leaves me all alone in the Baltics. I am STOKED.

Os also passed the Sacrament for the first time. He is a champ. Sometimes you just have to push him off the cliff before he realizes he has angel wings and can fly. He really does have wings. I'm not joking. Ask Elder Birch ( if you don't believe me. He will back me up.
Speaking of Elder Birch, I have done my best to make this day VERY awkward for him. For those of you who didn't turn of their computer/iphone/ipad/whateveryouusefortheinternetnowdays after reading the subject, June 5th is the day of my Fathers death. I am known for my insensitivity toward sensitive subjects, and I also am funny (and humble, TEE HEE). I have spent the entire day, stopping at random moments to tell him what was happening at that time on that day. He is uncomf, but will live.
Who cares about a few jokes, lets laugh a little, because he is okay. Families are Forever. That is not just something ''Mormons'' tend to say a lot, that is a FACT. God has laid out the PERFECT PLAN OF HAPPINESS so that we can live as families FOREVER. NO END. What is better than that? When ever you have a hard time in life, just remember what the future holds for those who hold to the rod.
Love you all, deceased and living.

Week #59

Another One Bites the Dust, Don't Want to Miss a Thing, and Men in Black.

I heard Queen, Aerosmith, and The Fresh Prince all in an 10 minute period of time last night. It was BEERFEST in Rīga and everyone was DRUNK but listening to good music. WOO HOO.

ANYWHO we will have a baptism on Saturday so I AM STOKED. An has been a wonderful consistent investigator. One that is hard to come by.

Kr is doing well as well. We will meet twice this week and smack DOWN a date.

We have 2 new investigators this week. J  and V who both have great faith. Both great guys. WE ARE EXCITED!

I also got some GREAT PANTS WOW! and I am so happy.

The Lord is good.

Also, I have really enjoyed talks from the womens session of Conference. Bonnie Cordons was great. Read them if you haven't.

I love you all.

Week #58

Daudz Līdaku Daugavā. Mēs šorit gandrīz noķeram vienu, bet diemžel, viņa salauza nost...

Labi. Man gribas rakstīt šo epastu Latviešu Valodā, bet mana mate būs ļoti dusmīga, tad laikam to nedarišu.

I went fishing this morning. Another Elder had a HUGE Pike break his line. It was great. Caught nothing though...

An is still on track for baptism and we have a new investigator named Kr who is bringing his Girlfriend to our lesson tonight. He is the Manager at McDonalds. TEe HEe.

All is good. I am happy. The Gospel is so true.

Also, for those who read Mormon 9, that is my favorite chapter from BOM. Verses 4,21,27,28 are OUTSTANDING. READ IT!

Week #57

If you could read my mind Love, what a tale my thoughts could tell. Just like a paperback novel, the kind the Drug Store sells.

The subject of this email is credited to the man who is a look alike of Gordon Lightfoot that is sitting by me right now.

We gonna keep this one short today because I am sick, tired, bored, and hungry.

How are all of you?

Miracles are EVERYWHERE all AROUND me. People are wanting to hear about the Gospel and want to be Baptized. Crazy. It is warm and people are nicer again. The Gospel is true.

Read Mormon 9, there will be a quiz next week.

Os was Baptized and that is a miracle. 3 Years ago he was into all sorts of drugs and his life was a mess. He has come a long way and changed so much. Great guy.

But the most astonishing miracle of the week was recieving an email from Mr. Ramjoue. The title is also credited to Adrian, thank you.

Me and Elder Birch are just cruzin along finding good stuff to do. Latvija is wonderful.

Hope you all had a great mothers day. Read the scriptures, pray, go to church. All good stuff.

Week #56

Hei Hei Hei

In the words of the great Paul Simon''Time hurries on, and the leaves that are green turn to brown."

Two things: 1- Time is FLYING BY SO FAST. IT IS CRAZY. 2- I hope that fall comes soon because it is getting HOT and STICKY again and I HATE SHOWERING TWICE A DAY.

I enjoy when it rains.

There is a man at this library currently watching Avatar: The Last Airbender, FIRE: The Emery Island Players. I am happy.

Anywhosies, O is getting baptized this Saturday. He is ready. He used to be into some heavy drugs and has made a complete 180 degree turn. His boss said to him "How can you believe that a 14 year old boy dug up some gold plates out of the earth?'' and O  replied "With all due respect, I would have said the same thing 3 months ago, but you just have to read it, and it all makes sense." I love him.

An is also still progressing well toward her date, June 3. We have many great investigators right now. We are blessed.

Here is a quote from our last Zone Conference by one of the Senior Sisters, Sister Barnes. It was the only thing she said the entire 7 hours.

"Repentance is always a good thing.''

That is the most true sentence of all time. Repentance (or change) is ALWAYS a good thing. Dont fear it. Christ did not die for you to watch you suffer too. Let him take all of your pain and sorrow away. He always will.

Go Jazz.

Week #55

Happy Birthday Dad!

Pep Pep would be 53 today. CRAZY. Elder Birch is excited because my Dads Birthday and Date of Death are on P-Days and I LOVE TO MAKE OTHERS UNCOMFORTABLE.

Dont have a ton of time (or my camera) because all of the Libraries are closed an we have limited time today. Sorry.

Good week. We had 3 baptisms on saturday, which was fun and busy.

Oskars and Anda are both still on pace to be baptized. We are going to have a family home evening with O and some members. WOO HOO.

Next week will be longer and better.

Week #54

Congratulations to Mr. Ramjoue on the job at the best high school in the world RHS. I am thrilled that I found that out through Megan after she joined on of his classes. Adrian, would it be better to continue to email you through this current email, or at your shiny new Jordan District email? I am awaiting your reply.
Anywho, I taught the lesson in Priesthood yesterday on Joy (Prieks) and that was good. There was a random guy named Mar there, who after the class, said he was "Full of Skittles''. Elder Birch then asked him how well he speaks English and he replied ''I sell moonshine with my uncle Jessie and my brother'' (Was there any mistakes, Mr. Ramjoue?) We hope he is for real and wants to meet. These are the people we look for.
Jau is still doing well. She is prepping to go to the Temple in a year, which is wonderful.
Investigators are well. We got a new one this week named El. Good guy. We will meet again on tuesday. (This is actually a serious question Mr. Ramjoue, how do you spell Tuesday? This computer does the red squiggly line under both Tues and Teus and I DONT KNOW) Anyway, El told us that he just feels inside that he lived before this life. Isnt that just incredible? Light of Christ is cool. I compare this to how I sometimes am unsure if i lived a life before my mission, but then All Star by Smashmouth comes on while you are eating a 12 oz cheeseburger with fries and you suddenly remember everything. WOOO HOOO.
The Jazz are killing it (Full of Skittles). We have a guy who tells us all the scores without us asking. (Tender Mercy?(That is still my least favorite phrase, but it fits))
Es esmu laimīgs, tas ir viss. Dzīve ir labi un man ļoti patik dzīvot te, Latvijā. Cilvēki šeit ir labāki nēka Amerikā. Varbut es te dzīvošu visu savu mužu? Redzēsim.
The church is true.

If you want something cool to do, read Romans 7. GREAT CHAPTER OF HOLY WRIT.
Elders Jostiņš
Mom, I am sorry, the computer keeps shutting down and this is the only picture I could get on. Next week I will have baptism photos FOR SURE!

Week #53

In Latvija, the Monday after Easter is know as 2nd Easter and they have the day off and all the libraries are CLOSED. LOL

My birthday was good. Pictures will show our celebration.

Investigators are good. We had 4 at church. Everyone goes to church on Easter and Christmas here. They are "devout" christians. LOL

The investigators were: An (Soon to be baptized media referral), Os (baptismal date on 13 of May), San (Cool guy who showed me all the Jazz updates(GO JAZZ!!!)) and J (cool guy who will also eventually join the church)

Easter was great, God is good, Jesus is risen. No doubt in my mind.

Week #52

How is it going? My Grandma emailed me this week. It was nice. We all need friendly reminders sometimes, so I will now friendly remind these people as well:

Jon Ruggles (I need minion Buchemi)
Adrian Ramjoue
Melissa Wood

That is all.

Anyway, this week was quite busy. We watched all the sessions of conference on Saturday and Sunday (in Latvian) which I sort of understand now. It was good.

Met with some members and ate some food this week.

It is crazy to tell people that I live within a 20 minute drive of 4 temples, and now it will be 5 with Saratoga. As President Chugg pointed out to me, we can now go to the Temple and then hit the lake. I AM STOKED. Members here, who travel 4 times a year to Sweden are always SHOCKED. Blessings on Blessings on Blessings of a Riverton, UT boi.

My Favorite talks in order:

1)Elder Renland - Always steller. Compassion.
2)Elder Holland - Shaking things up a bit, but still marvelous. (Although i really dont like ''Saulains Prieks" (Sunshine in my soul today))
3)Bishop Causse - This talk made me think about growing up and all the guys who put up with me.

I will now give a online shout out, due to Bishop Causse's talk, to some great guys who kept me going when I was a snotty teenager (still am, actually, until thursday

Steve Boehme - When I was in middle School and didnt have a ton of close friends, we would go fishing. Wonderful example of humility and all in all an Incredible guy. Me and Elder Birch (who was Boehmes ceramics student) have many wonderful conversations about being called fatties and other mean names. Great memories.

President Chugg - Same thing here with the fishing. We fished A LOT and will fish EVEN MORE when I am home. One of the guys who treated this fatherless boy as his son. I remember being so excited to go fishing for the first time. We went on a monday nightto Pelican bay and caught some cats.

SIDE NOTE: I love to make jokes about not having a dad, as most of you uncomfortably understand, but I had anywhere from 5-10 guys who filled that roll, and I am GREATFUL.

Mike Bohling - Also fishing. Great example of being able to have fun and be serious about the Gospel too. He would also steal every Crappie I ever was going to catch, and he wont let me forget about never catching one either.

Tom Hildebrand - When I had nothing to do on saturdays, Tom would invite me over to watch Utah games. He was a wonderful Teachers advisor.

Trent Earnshaw - We always just got along. Also would fish. Always made me feel welcome in every situation. Also a great teachers leader.

Jim Groethe - A great teacher who was actually never officailly my teacher, but nontheless had an impact on me. Helped me through a lot of rough times and helped me see the good in everything.

Steve Schaber - Another great teacher. I had many teachers who cared individually about me, but im not sure if a teacher has ever cared about his students more. Kept me going through some hard months of senior year, and for that, I am quite grateful.

Stewart Hudnall - One of the only guys whose sarcasm made my humor seem wet. I always enjoyed going to his class, because it was always uplifiting for me (although it was often uncomfortable and sarcastic, but that is where I thrive) In the words of a horrible country artist ''Its a great day to be alive, I know the sun is still shining when I close my eyes'' I dont actually see how to fit this in well but anyone in that class will understand.

Joshua Briggs - The most humble man I have ever met. Had him as a teacher all 3 years. Helped me through the tough times with genuine care for me and my well being.

I would also like to shout out all my friends parents but we DEFINANTLY dont have time for that. I am straight running out of TIME!

If you are all still reading, good job. I know that most of the people who read these dont know these guys or for that matter care about my young mens leaders and teachers. I do, however, understand the importance of looking back and seeing how the Lord always places the right people in our lifes, at just the right time, and I KNOW that the Lord has done and will continue to do that for me.

Think of the people in your life that have helped you along and thank them.

When we show our gratitude for what God had done for us, we begin to recognize our blessings bigger and brighter.

Week #51

I was a kid in a candy shop this morning as I went to the ''Stūra Maja'' or ''Corner House'' today. It is a very large and nice white building on the corner of Brīvības Iela (Freedom street) and Stābu Iela. This building was built in 1912 and had many flower shops and grocery stores, as well as offices and apartments.

In 1940, when the Soviets arrived, it was the perfect building for Interigations. Today, I stood in rooms that held prisoners and saw first hand the KGB methods (tourture, humiliation, execution, etc) Absolutely disgusting, but soo very interesting for my brain.

I am happy to have the knowledge that I do and the Peace that comes from our savior, Jesus Christ.

If you have not seen it yet, go to and watch the churches Easter video. It is (in my opinion) the best video the church has made. SERIOUSLY GOOD!

Ja was succesfully dunked and has given the Holy Ghost and is now the sassiest 65 year old in the Church. She seriously reminds me of my grandmother, Linda, who has not written me for 3 weeks. Post dunk, she turned and said to the congregation ''Ļoti Patikami'' (Very Pleasing).  She later said her only thought was ''Žel ka man bija jākap ārā" (Pity that I had to come up(*out of the water)). She is GREAT.

Me and Elder Birch are well. We met with a referral today who is PREPARED AS A HORSE and will soon be baptized. GREAT JOB! (Of course, it is God who does all the work, I am simply a chubby redhead servent)

Met a cool lady in Jelgava on an Exchange. We were walking in an area with few people and just felt like we had to keep walking. We then, at the last moment before turning away, met a former investigator who wants to meet again! GREAT JOB!

That is it, I have no more. Tee hee. Also, I forgot my camera at home and am deeply sorrowful that I wont be able to send Picture of 1) the baptism and 2) the KGB house.

Week #50

(my birthday is April 13th and it takes 1-2 weeks for a letter to get here and 2-3 for a package, FYI)  Just a friendly reminder.

Well, the 30th of March will be my 1 year mark, and I have accomplished NOTHING. Tee Hee.

I am a new boy. I am a glasses boy now and also now I am smart and can do math and science and can argue about literature with the highest scholars in the land. Also, I look like Dwight Shrute and Peter Griffin had a baby.

Also, I have gotten back into thrift shopping and found a ''Vintage'' store and LOVE MYSELF.

Ja will be baptized on the 1st of April. Me and Elder Birch have a BIG pool of investigators (for the Baltic Mission). We have 6 solid investigators and we are finding more. With the summer coming around, people are happier.

Found maggots in the apartment and it was gross.

I don't know what else to say. I do the same thing everyday. Im still sarcastic. Not too much has changed. Except I have HOTT GLASSES AND A HOTT BOD. And I am more spiritual.

I hope General Conference treats you all well.

Week #49

Me and Elder Satterlee are no longer companions. I am very depressed and will need birthday letters. (my birthday is April 13th and it takes 1-2 weeks for a letter to get here and 2-3 for a package, FYI)

I am now once again with... Elder Birch.

Yes, my absolutly pathetic MTC companion.

Jk I really like Elder Birch!

I also am still in Rīga Center South. 10 months strong and still going.

Ja and the family of 9 are all well. Ja will still Baptize on the 1st of April (it will be a huge joke) lol

Hope all is well in Amerika or where ever the heck you all are, I dont care. The world will soon all be Amerika because I TRUST TRUMP. Tee Hee im glad im in former Soviet Latvijā with agressive Putin knocking on the door. Tee HEE.

Im bored, I usually get really bored writing these. So I will stop.

Week #48

Hei Hei Hei
We are ROLLING in the Investigator dough here in Rīga Center South! Elder Saterlee is a very well oiled machine.
We have a great family of 9 that we are teaching and the parents came to church for all 3 hours and loved it. WOO HOO.
Megan is awake and just emailed me, she is great. I fear I may have to kill some high school tool boys when I get back. She is too good for them. I love her and Becca (missions change people) and my Mom and Grandma and Aunts and Uncles and friends and SOPHIE!
Lol, I am sappy as a horse.
We are going to the Ghetto Bus Station glasses shop to get E. Saterlee some now frames and to get my eyes tested! Wish me luck, I need some shades for my health.
Ja  is still great. Sassy, but wonderful.
The Church is true. The Doctorine is sound. Prophets walk the Earth today. Studio C is not, was not, and will not ever be funny. I love this Gospel.
The PixiesThe xx, Jose Gonzalez, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and The Foo Fightersare all coming to Rīga soon.

Week #47

I bought Kevin Durants

Now that we ball every monday, I thought it would be nice to get some new kicks. So I bought a very nice pair of KD's. Love myself.

MLC was great. Got to see Elder Seegmiller. I also just read his email and I shed 3 tears. Here is the paragraph from his email, with a few added touches, by me.

Also Elder Yost and I had a special week this moment. During MLC, we were invited to role-play (I hate role playing in front of other people) teaching the doctrine of Christ together in front of everyone. Elder Curtis (aka Serena Williams) (acting as an investigator) had a lack of real intent. And as Elder Yost and I taught together, asked inspired questions and got to the core of our fake investigator, I felt wonderful. (As a matter of fact, it was arguably the greatest role play of all time. We already had companion unity from years of poking around together in R-Town) Memories trickled back to me, of camping trips (Elder @PKseegmiller is a City Slicker and cannot handle bugs) and spike ball (I miss spike) and fifa (for all you football fans out there, he would only play as Manchester City because his favorite player is Joe Hart...) and laughing and my subaru (my dream car) and his stupid saturn (best car ever) and crying (we actually would cry quite a bit) and a lot of long night conversations (when Marci wouldn't kick us out at 10:00) and somber moods (only when Elder Seegmiller was on acutane and when we would watch 'Bernie') and farewells and (few) emails (this was a shot at me) and silence (another shot at me) and surprises and rejoicing and our whole friendship just sort of culminated in a quiet moment in Riga, Latvia talking about the Savior of the world. (top 5 moment of my life) God has a plan. I am grateful for that plan. (BFF's forever <3)

I am very greatful for you all.

Ja will be baptized on the 1st of April.

I am very happy here.

Week #46

Went down to Liepāja this week with Elder Birch to do an Exchange. It was snowing and there was no one outside and I LOVE THE SNOW but no one wanted to talk. At a members house, I read all about ''The Kolob Theorum'' and I am amazed at the amount of information that science does not know! Even Neil DeGrasse Tyson (one of the loves of my life) does not know about ''The Dust Veils''! Kolob is at the center of the Milky Way Galaxy, we just are blinded by the dust veils! CRAYZY!

Shout out to my boy Casey Affleck for finally living up to your potential and taking that Oscar.

Also, I recently learned that I can ''Glamour Retouch'' pictures on my camera, and I am content with my life.

Ja is an older lady, kinda quiet, and REALLY sassy. She will be baptized soon. We are working side by side with some Sisters to get her in the WATER. Woo Hoo.

Week #45

All of the glasses in our kitchen have Shrek on them. I don't know why I haven't yet mentioned this, but I thought it would be worth saying.

I heard Trump vs The Media 2017 is in full swing. I also heard that Trump lost by making up and attack in Sweden. I love that this is the same man who has the Nuclear codes. So much peace in my Eastern European heart. (Actually, all the hearts here are cold and hard, there is no room for peace)

Any who, we have a few new investigators this week. To a cool young guy who speaks English very well and Ja an older lady who has now been given every book ever published by the church. The Branch President is very excited and gave her a lot of reading material. Great guy. They are all great, actually. I like all these people.

Me and Elder Satterlee are working on Dubbing 'The District' so get excited.

My weight has plateaued for now. I have been colder this winter because my fat reserves are gone. I may consider gaining it back.

Mom- Please try to find ''Ill build you a Rainbow'' and send it to me via email. I need it.

Week #44

Elder Satterlee is the #1 person in the entire world.

Elder Seegmiller came and stayed with me again. He is a good guy. His trainee is Elder Nathan Anderson and my first trainee was Elder Nathan Andersen. Nice.

Do you all remember and email months back where I talked about a 92 year old Jewish man who fought in WW2? I hope so. He is a good guy. He taught us some Latvian songs for language study this week. There was a word we did not know, so he asked me to come up and he would show us what it meant. When I was in front of all 10 of the Elders and Sisters in the room, he turned me around and gave me a good spankin'. Hence the title ''Pera gan, Pera gan, Kunziņi man.'' Woo Hoo.

E is still doing well. Will talk to his boss about getting more sundays off to come to church. Woo Hoo x2.

That is all from me, I am lazy and cannot remember too much from this week. I will be better.

Week #43

Hei Hei Hei

What is going on in ASV? (USA) Trump still doing cool things? He is a COOL President. He is the President we deserve, not the one we need.

Everyone here LOVES my dead dad jokes, BTW. They get very uncomfortable 1) Because they are uncomfortable 2) Because they are all "Were missionaries and that is not acceptable" and I just say "How dare you talk to me like that, you have a living dad" They can NEVER come back to that one. I am the same just more spiritual :)

We had a baptism in Rīga this week. Her name is In  and she was a Referral from Church Headquarters. Her less-active masseuse told her about the church. Miricles... :)

Also, I will stay in my area. I have never left Rīga Center South. Im not training again though. (Thank the heavens above. I would have jumped out of our 4 story window if I was.) I will be companions with...

My mission dream is a reality.

Week #42

Subject: Eminem, Rhianna, Tupac, Miley Cyrus, Nikki Manaj, are all of the Devil.

I saw a video of the Flop from the UofU vs Oregon game. The greatest flop of all time without a doubt.

President Trump is limiting the travel of Muslims to the USA, harassing the border between the USA and Mexico, and signing Executive Orders left and right. What does America do? We get all the women together are stomp around for a while and have Madonna give a key note speech. You look at me in the eyes (through the Computer) and tell me America has its head screwed on straight.

Any way, Eastern Europe is calm.

Roger Federer won the Aussie Open and I could not be more happy. He is the King of Tennis.

We have a new Schedule which means I have a little bit more down time. Woo Hoo I can finally read Jesus the Christ. (Great Book)

A member of the Branch, Jānis, gave a 25 minute talk and listed out all of the commandments, including that we cannot listen to any of the artists in the title. At 25 minutes he said, woah, i am only 10 percent through my talk. He is a joy.

We taught 0 lessons this week!

Have a great week.

Week #41

Suffering, sorrow and pain.

Hello Family, Friends, Blake Sykes, Mark McDermott, Jon Ruggles, Adrian Ramjoue, and all of the other people who I would like to email me.

This week was one for the ages.

E asked us if he could be baptized. March 4th is the date. VERY EXCITING!

I gave a talk in church. I tried my best to get up and just talk. (not read from a paper)

The first speaker spoke about the Book of Mormon and Sister Kunzelman then spoke about Our Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

I then got up and said "Šodien, es runāšu par Ciešanam, Bedam, un Sapem" (Today, I will speak abour Suffering, Sorrow, and Pain.) Everyone got sad.

I spoke of my favorite New Testament verse (Romans 8:18) and how sometimes we focus on our trials and forget the big Picture.

I then told the whole story of my Grandmother, Linda, and her life. I spoke about how through the death of her Husband and Son, she stayed focused on the BIG PICTURE not on the little things. I then spoke of my mother, Tamera, and how she lost her Dad, Brother, and Husband and still keeps going.

I ended with the point, "Nav Svarīgs kas notiks mūsu dzīvēs, bet ir svarīgs ko mēs darām kad sliktas lietas notiek, tāpēc, ka viņi noteikti notiks visiem" (It is not important what happens to us, but it is important what we do when bad things happen, because they will for sure happen to all of us)

One of my favorite members, An, told me to tell my Mother and Grandmother they they have a sister in the gospel in Latvijā. Also, to say that you have a good grandson and son. Tee hee.

Have a good week.

Week #40

I bought an ice fishing pole. The Daugava has frozen over and the fish are about to go CRAZY. I am also about to go CRAZY. No one can keep me off the ICE.

Massive perch out of these waters, 5 times the size of the little guys we catch on Utah lake, President Chugg. Very beautiful fish. Also tasty.

I like panfish in general. Crappie, Blugill, Sunfish, Perch, it is all good. Sadly, I still have never caught a Crappie.

No Crappie in Latvija. Lots of Pike though. Breen too, but they are ugly. They also like to eat Carp in Latvija, so that is awful.

I wish investigators were fish. I wish I could just throw a Curly tailed white jig tipped with carp meat into a pond and have a 5 lb Jānis or Līga or Andris or Marta or some other Latvian hooked.

We did get some bites last  week and this week. Ma, cool guy. Also Ed.

ALSO GO STEELERS. Skin Bill and Tommy ALIVE!

(Too harsh? No.)

E and  Alare doing well.

P showed up to work with his Church of Satan star and shirt, MASSIVE leather boots, and gave his dad as a referral. Also, he is going to SLC in march. Who is down to take him to dinner? (I have a great time, every time.)

Have a good week.

I miss fishing, if you didnt notice. Also music. Tootsie Rolls Too.

Week #39

Friends, family and Jon Ruggles,

Avatar: The Last Airbender was brought up in conversation this week. I will how make multiple connections between ATLA and the Gospel.

1) Battle within Zuko. The battle between good and evil that takes place in Zuko is QUITE accurate to what goes on each day with us. We can choose God or Satan, lets just be like Zuko and choose the right. Kick the Firelord in the face.

2) Zuko and Iroh. The relationship between these two is the same as with us and God. We are rebellious and think we know all, but we don't. Iroh is always wiser than us. He just wants us to choose the better path. #WhiteLotus

Your welcome. I will save the others for a future date.

I am fine. Investigators are cool. Latvija is not AS cold as Jūta (Utah) but it is cold.

3 new investigators last week. Woot Woot.

I thought about Jon when I thought about Avatar. Luv u Jon.

Week #38

2017 Resolutions
1) Be Better.
2) Lose more weight.
3) Don't make mistakes.
4) Maintain the power that I have gained.
5) Gain more power.
6) Beat every Escape Room in Riga.
7) Never be a Junior Companion.

Good list.

I had a drunk man ask me to rub noses with him yesterday. I told him no, and he said "Americans... (I had already said I was from the USA) All you do is vote for George Bush and invade Iraq." I said "Yes." If I was not a missionary, I would have done it. His name was Karlis. He did get close enough to my face that I could smell the cheap Russian booze.  I love Riga.

I bought a selfie stick.

We (me, Elder Demille, Elder Cooley, and Elder Birch) have done 2 Escape rooms in the past 3 weeks. We will do another today.

I had a man text me his Bank and Credit Card info yesterday asking for 30 euro.

Happy New Year.

This very well may be our last. All hail King Trump and his cheap orange spray tan!

See you next year.
